Afghan War Diary
2010
The website connected to an online war game server - Counter-Strike - and retrieved frags (when a player killed another) in real-time. These frags triggered a chronological search in the Wikileaks database that contained over 75,000 secret US military reports on the war in Afghanistan.
Based on the retrieved data, the website showed the location of the attack on a virtual Earth. The story of the war in Afghanistan was thus generated by the virtual killings of the Counter-Strike's players.
